Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 22nd Nov, 2020   0

“YOU want to have the ‘Santa Specials’ in May or June?”, exclaimed my wife, with a bewildered look on her face.

As we cannot have our usual fund-raising ‘Santa Specials’ on our garden railway because of the lockdown, I thought perhaps we could try in May or June next year.

For a number of years, we have opened our garden railway to visitors, displaying a model Santa riding round, to raise funds for our village church and other local charities.

“I know that Santa completes his deliveries on time on Christmas Eve, but would he be available at that time of the year,” she joked.

Covid 19 has caused so much disruption in our nation and it has sadly affected all of us in one way or another.

Jesus Christ lived here on earth at a time of disruption and brutality under the Roman Empire occupation of the Holy Land and the people were looking for a saviour who would rid them of this terrible burden and they thought that Jesus was the man for the task.

He came, not as a military leader, but as someone who was there to share the Love of God, with all the people of the land and bring peace, joy and love into the hearts of all his listeners.

He still brings us that message in this troubled time in which we live, and we can experience that as we pray to God in Jesus Name.
