Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 11th Oct, 2020   0

A FEW weeks ago, I purchased a new station in kit form for my model garden railway.

The parts arrived in pristine condition straight from the moulds of the supplier and I quickly began to build and paint it ready to go outside onto the layout.

I had used a new supplier, so I was a little concerned for the durability of the product. However, the last few days this model station has had to endure some very strong winds and heavy rain. I am pleased that it has proved to be a reliable product.

A number of the model buildings, stations, churches, houses and shops have been on the layout for many years and they have lasted well through all kinds of weather, be it sun, rain, frost or snow.

Like the changing weather we endure in the UK, life can be like that as we face good and not so good experiences.

Jesus Christ’s disciples faced many varying experiences in their time with him.

Two occasions come to mind with regard to storms at sea and even though a number of the disciples were seasoned fishermen they were absolutely afraid and feared for their lives.

On both occasions Jesus came into the situation and calmed the raging sea and the howling wind by saying, “Peace be still’.

There are so many times in our lives when it is good to hear those words in the quietness of prayer as we come to God through His Son Jesus Christ.
