IT DOESN’T seem that long ago when anyone Hill or Fell walking in the UK got into trouble they would have to wait a long time for rescue.
Then came the specially trained dogs that could quickly sniff out the person requiring rescue. But of course it still wasn’t always easy to find the person in the rough terrain.
Following on came the mountain rescue helicopters but again not all injured people were accessible for them to be able to land close by.
This week on the TV news a new idea is being tried out, Paramedics with a Jet Pack strapped to their backs, which allows them to reach the disabled person within minutes of them, being located. Cinemagoers will know that James Bond had these supplied by ‘Q’.
Today there are so many inventions and methods to help us live our lives in this troublesome world in which we live.
Despite that, we live in a world full of many dangers, with many changes that affect us every day of our lives.
But we can be assured that the God of the Bible can be trusted to bring love, joy and peace into our lives.
In the Gospels we read so often the words of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, of that very fact and whilst we are many years down the line from then, those words are as true today as they were when Jesus spoke them.
