Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 19th Apr, 2020   0

IT’S amazing that because of the lockdown people are doing things they did not have time to do before.

Many cupboards have been sorted out and many are finding the ‘chore’ of gardening has become an enjoyable pastime.

We are truly living in a strange time with so much of our normal everyday life no longer there and being substituted by that which beforehand was abnormal.

Not being able to visit relatives and friends is one of the major disappointments to many, especially the older generation.

When something we have enjoyed so much is taken away from us then the loss is all the more keenly felt.

When the Lord Jesus Christ was taken away from his disciples, family and friends, they thought the end of their world had taken place and he was gone from them forever.

But as we know from the Bible accounts, he rose from the dead and shared an amazing forty days with them before he ascended to heaven.

Their world was completely changed for the better for they experienced new life because of the death and resurrection of Jesus.

In so many ways the church today, because of the lockdown, is finding new ways of communicating the good news the message of Easter brings to us now.

Let us look for the good news and apply it to our lives in this dark time.

Keep safe. Keep well.
