Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 16th Feb, 2020   0

LAST Saturday my wife and I went to Lincoln and on the way had a trip down memory lane to see the village in Leicestershire where we were both born.

Although there were some places we recognised, like the three railway bridges, the brook running through the centre of the village and the church, so much was new and unrecognisable.

Once it had been a large thriving place with much industry but now it is just simply a commuter village with the residents travelling to and from their places of employment.

Would we want to move back there? Probably not we both agreed.

All around us we see so much change, with buildings springing up everywhere, seemingly overnight.

Advancement and change will always be with us and therefore we need to live with it and accept it and move forward.

We live in an age when it is not the ‘in thing’ to go to church, mainly because we do not think that it caters for us anymore, but there is so much for us if we will look for it.

Church doesn’t have to be a service on a Sunday; so many churches cater for the needs of all ages on different days of the week.

It is good to stop and ask, “What can a church near me, offer me to be able to live a more fulfilled life in my community?
