Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 22nd Dec, 2019

I HAVE a small torch that is the same size as my index finger and it is powered by a small AAA battery.

The small torch fits neatly into my pocket or my wife’s handbag but it has a very powerful light for its size, which is so useful on dark nights when a light is needed.

Just over two thousand years ago a small light came into a very dark world but it has had a tremendous impact on that world ever since.

That first Christmas, Jesus Christ was born in a dark smelly stable in Bethlehem because there was no room in the hotel.

Jesus, the Son of God, is the Light of the World who came to dwell among people like us to show us the Love and Salvation of God that can be ours when we accept him as our Saviour.

Christmas is a time for lights on trees and buildings but also a time when we can look beyond the tinsel, glitter and presents and reflect on the ‘reason for the season’.

May you enjoy a very Happy Christmas.
