Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 21st Jul, 2019   0

AMAZING, contrasting results in the sporting events last weekend.

First we had the ladies singles final at Wimbledon on Saturday, which was over in less than an hour. This was followed by the Men’s doubles final, which seemed to go on forever and finished very late in the evening.

Sunday was even more amazing with the men’s singles final going right through to the fifth set and being the longest in Wimbledon history.

At the same time the Cricket World Cup was being played out in dramatic fashion with the final result being decided by the highest number of boundaries scored by the winning side.

Add to that, the fact that the British Grand Prix was won in what seemed to be an easy fashion, and all this took place with competitors from all over the world vying to be the best in their individual or team sport.

When we read in the Bible about the disciples of Jesus Christ, we realise that each one was different and they brought their own individual characteristics to the team.

People have often said, “I am not good enough to be a Christian”, or words to that effect.

The thing is that we are all different and are not good enough until we accept the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives by accepting his wonderful salvation.

Church is made up of all kinds of people and we each bring our own individuality into the mix, which makes things exciting.
