Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 22nd Jan, 2017   0

SO OFTEN we see Her Majesty the Queen in all her finery at state functions and the like, emphasising that she is indeed our Queen.

But what about the other side that we very rarely see?

The other day I read of her concern for one of her gamekeepers who recently died at the age of 95, and how she would visit him once a week at his home near Windsor Castle.

After chatting to the widower she would then take his dogs for a walk across the Windsor Park.

The article concluded by saying, “She loves friendship, loyalty, kindness to animals, fresh air and doing good deeds very quietly indeed”.

Of course the older generation would remember that in the last war Princess Elizabeth was able to strip down and rebuild a vehicle engine, not worried about getting her hands dirty in the time of need.

Buckingham Palace is her home but she is interested in the people outside.

When Jesus Christ came to earth, he left behind the splendour and grandeur of heaven in order that he could live amongst ordinary people like us, so that he could show us the love and concern of his Heavenly Father for each one of us.

Jesus went about doing good but the greatest thing that he did was to die on the cross so that we might join him in heaven with his Father God.

Do we have that assurance? We can by asking Jesus Christ into our lives, now.
