Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 16th Jun, 2019   0

O NO; its raining again!

How many times have we uttered those words over the past week or so?

All those outdoor activities which we have planned to do, but we have had to curtail or abandon completely.

But of course we do need the rain to bring forth the crops for our food.

I have often heard it said, “Why can’t it just rain at night and let the daytime be full of sunshine”. That of course would be too easy and even then it would not be to everyone’s liking.

This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day when we show our appreciation to our Dads for all that they do for us.

If you are planning a BBQ or other outdoor activity to say thank you to your father or grandfather, I trust that the weather will be good so that you can celebrate together.

Of course Father’s Day should also be a time when we give thanks to God the Heavenly Father for all the benefits that he gives to us, like the weather, be it rain or shine to enable our crops to grow.

But the greatest gift that the Heavenly Father has given us is that Jesus Christ his Son came to live on earth telling us of God’s love and then giving his life so that we could really know that love.

Rain or shine, let us enjoy Father’s Day and all that it means and also think of God’s love to us as individuals
