VICTORIES can be ‘hard won’ or alternatively can come very easily.
Last Sunday, Manchester City were crowned the English Premier League Champions after what appeared to be an easy victory against Brighton by four goals to one.
But the title was really won on the previous Monday evening when a wonder goal against a resolute Leicester City gave the Manchester team a one goal to nil victory and three precious points. The many thousands of their supporters worldwide enjoyed that victory.
Looking back in history we realise many of the great battles which have been fought have been done so over a long and arduous length of time resulting in much hardship and pain.
We often face many battles in our lives which can be daunting and sad.
Reading the four gospels in the New Testament, one could think Jesus Christ’s Disciples thought he had come to lead an army to gain victory, by force, over the ruling Roman occupiers.
How wrong they were, for he came not to fight but with a message of the love of God, which can break down the hardest of hearts and bring people to know the truth of his great salvation.
Whatever battles we may be facing, let us bring them to the Lord Jesus Christ and let him help us through them.
