Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 5th May, 2019   0

FOR THE third time in as many years my car has been recalled for warranty work on the heater. The fault on the system has caused a number of the model to catch fire and burn out.

Look under the bonnet of a modern car today and unless you are a skilled mechanic with all the diagnostic kit, you have no chance of repairing it yourself.

Long gone are the days when you could take the engine out of your car and ‘repair it on the kitchen table’ as my brother in law used to say.

Sophistication has taken over from simplicity in all forms of life from politics, through business, into sport and finally into family life.

Why do we always have to make things so difficult and cause ourselves so much aggro?

Some theologians today would argue against the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, saying that it is totally impossible. But as we read the New Testament in the Bible we have so much clear evidence from the hundreds of recorded eyewitness statements that it has to be true.

Contrary to common belief, the Christian church is constantly growing and millions of people, worldwide, are finding a living faith in the risen Lord Jesus Christ each day.

Is our religion made up of sophisticated ideas or based on the simple fact that Jesus Christ did die on the cross and on the third day actually rose from the dead for us?
