AN award-winning singer-songwriter will be performing at Pershore’s Pickled Plum on Monday (September 18) to raise vital cash for Dogs Trust.
A heartbreaking trip to Dogs Trust Evesham has prompted Frazer Lepford to become a volunteer at the venue while embarking on a charity tour of the Cotswolds.
The ‘Rodeo’ star, who was named Amazon Breakthrough Artist of 2021, said he felt awful after seeing how many dogs at the venue were left needing homes.
Frazer has since decided to become a volunteer at Dogs Trust Evesham and will be playing at dog-friendly venues throughout the Cotswolds every Monday and Tuesday in September.
The 27-year-old has been singing and playing the guitar for the past nine years, but his love of dogs dates back much further.
Frazer said: “My family has had dogs in the past, one was a beautiful rescue Labrador called Lulu who loved a good belly rub.
“I’ve never forgotten her, and our family dogs made me a dog-lover for life.
“I visited Dogs Trust Evesham recently and the facilities were fantastic, so hopefully these concerts will help the dogs there find homes.”
Frazer will be accepting donations and selling merchandise at the concerts, with all of the cash raised going to Dogs Trust.
He has also set up a JustGiving page to raise extra money.
Dogs Trust Evesham manager Chris Slight added: “As far as I’m aware it’s the first time a musician has taken to the stage for us in this way and given Frazer’s following and success it’s great it will get people talking about Dogs Trust across the region too.
“I’m sure some of the team members from the centre will go along and we hope dog lovers and owners, and our four-legged friends, will enjoy a great night out whilst helping animals who have yet to find families of their own.”
