ORGANISERS of the Badsey Flower Show have paid tribute to Lynda Bellingham who passed away at the age of 66.

The popular actress and TV presenter had been battling colon cancer since July 2013 but died in her husband Michael’s arms on Sunday (October 19).

Tragically, she had only recently stopped chemotherapy to limit her family’s suffering after her cancer had spread to her lungs and liver and had hoped to spend a final Christmas with her loved ones.

Mrs Bellingham was the guest of honour at the 2012 Badsey Flower Show where she made a special appearance to film sections of an ITV show titled ‘My Tasty Travels With Lynda Bellingham’.

The show saw her take a peek at the many farms, family businesses and local traditions across the British countryside.

She was warmly welcomed on her visit to the Vale and Adrian Barradell from the Badsey Flower Show told the Observer: “We were all very saddened to hear the news about Lynda.

“When she came and got involved with our village show a couple of years ago as a part of the Tasty Travels TV programme she was so kind to and had such a lot of time for everyone, it was just lovely having her and the team along for the day.

“The Badsey Flower Show committee would like to extend their very best wishes to her friends and family.” he added.
