Showcasing Pershore and its people

A PERSHORE photographer is searching for volunteers to be photographed as part of her ‘Pershore People’ project.

Sue Lloyd has started to photograph families in the town and is hoping to turn the photos into an exhibition and eventually a book.

Many families have already taken part including local fund-raiser Trudy Burge and her mum Margaret Annis.

Mrs Burge said: “Sue first approached me with the idea in 2014 when she wanted to photograph my dad, Ted Annis. Unfortunately he was too ill at that point and died not long afterwards.

“Both my mum and dad’s family trace back to Solomon Annis and have lived in this town for hundreds of years, so mum and I were thrilled to be invited to take part in this project.

“Sue is so talented and we had a lovely time chatting about days gone by before having the photographs taken. She really put us at ease and I’m so pleased with her work.

“I know only too well life can turn on a sixpence and one day photographs can be all you have left. I very much hope lots of other people in the town will support this noble project and I look forward to seeing the exhibition.”

Call Sue on 01386 553668 or e-mail her at [email protected] to take part in the project or for more information.
