SHOPPING chiefs at The Valley in Evesham are celebrating after a rise in sales during 2021 of 20 per cent compared with the same period in 2019

The scheme also reported a return to normal footfall levels posting a 97 per cent return of shoppers during 2021 compared with 2019 in figures from April 12 when lockdown was lifted to New Year’s Eve.

Marketing director Phil Maclean, said: “I’m delighted to be reporting an excellent set of trading results. We’ve focused on highlighting the benefits of safe, stress-free, open-air shopping, which during the pandemic has been a big pull.

“The ongoing curation of a broadening retail offer, which brings more than 1.3million people into the county, together with our investment into the wider country park, has helped the scheme navigate the pandemic better than high-street retailing and is thriving.”

A new leisure development is planned for this summer, with opportunities to adjacent mixed-use flexible retail space.
