CARING Pershore shoppers have been thanked for their generous donations to the town’s food bank.

Town MP Harriett Baldwin paid tribute to kind-hearted shoppers who have dug deep to help Tesco in the High Street collect items to help those who have experienced sudden unexpected cash shortfalls.

She met with local store manager Jag Dhaliwal and representatives from Pershore’s recently opened food bank.

“Tesco is leading this initiative with food banks across the UK to help get useful supplies like UHT milk and canned goods to people who are facing a sudden cash crisis.” she said.

“I can help people who have had delays with benefits payments and the Citizens Advice Bureau can help with debt problems.

“I would like to thank all the people of Pershore have donated tonnes of groceries and all the people who volunteer their time at the new Pershore food bank to support neighbours going through a tough time.”
