AFTER a day of indulgence, many of us will be heading out into the countryside for a refreshing stroll.
A refreshing winter walk can offer many health benefits as well as offering a welcome break from the chaos of a Christmas living room filled with wrapping paper.
There are 4,600km of public rights of way in Worcestershire with many walking routes of differing difficulty.
Some suggested routes for the festive season include the Dowles Brook circular in the Wyre Forest, Barnt Green Lickey Hills circular, the Hartlebury Leapgate circular and Romsley Penny Fields Walk.
Coun Alan Amos, cabinet member for Highways at Worcestershire County Council said, “Boxing Day walks can be a great winter tradition, and we have some fantastic circular walks in Worcestershire. Our Public Rights of Way are a huge asset to Worcestershire and showcase some of the best parts of county, so make the perfect backdrop to your Boxing Day.”
