Severn Trent unveil £250,000 Badsey sewer pipe work

BADSEY residents are being invited to a meeting to discuss £250,000 improvement works to the sewer pipe along the village’s High Street later this month.

Severn Trent chiefs and contractors MMB will be available between 3.30pm and 6.45pm on Wednesday (January 15) at the Remembrance Hall to reveal more about the work.

Work to replace the sewer pipe will begin on January 27 and is expected to be completed by the end of March with the team starting work between the junction of Bretforton Road and Synehurts Crescent.

The six-figure investment is to help prevent bursts and protect the local environment from flooding.

Helen Hollingworth, engineer for the project said: “We know there’s history with this pipe causing problems in the area, so that’s why this project is going to make a huge difference in helping to protect the environment.

“By replacing the pipe, we can be sure it’s in the best possible condition and we’d really like to meet as many of those who live in the area as possible, so we can talk about how we plan on doing the work, and how it may affect them.”

“We know there’s never a good time to do this type of work,” adds Helen.

“But we’re confident once we’ve finished, the area will benefit massively from the improvements we’ve made to the sewer pipes.”
