SOLID oak rustic benches have been provided at locations in Evesham and Pershore, thanks to the generosity of a Pershore community and environmental charity.
Welcome to our Future has arranged for the benches to be provided at four locations – Evesham Rowing Club, St. Kenelms Church, Upton Snodsbury, Avon Meadows, Pershore and the site for the new Crowle Community Shop.
Funding was provided by Severn Waste Services through the Landfill Communities Fund and two benches have already been installed with the remaining two due to be fitted later this month.
Installation was undertaken by Rob Stevenson, Worcestershire County Council’s countryside sites officer.
Welcome to our Future says its role is to help and support community groups and enterprises to achieve a balance between protecting and improving the environment, meeting social needs and promoting economic success throughout Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Bill Richardson, of Welcome to our Future, said: “Over the last few years we have provided benches for long-distance walking trails such as The Worcestershire Way and The Wychavon Way and also several other locations in Worcestershire where they will be of benefit to local residents and visitors.”
