A REMEMBRANCE evening will take place for Evesham sailor Josh Gayton who tragically died in Scotland.
There will be a gathering in the Market Square in Evesham, starting at 7.30pm on Sunday, May 5.
A two-minute silence in Josh’s memory will be held at 9pm (2100 hours as Josh was 21).
And there will be blue ribbons and candles to be sold in the evening to help raise additional funds to go to supporting Josh’s family.
People who go along are being urged to wear blue in memory of Josh to help ‘light up the town blue’.
A fund-raising page set up to support Josh’s family has now generated more than £12,000.
Josh Gayton, 21, was found dead in Scotland on Sunday, April 21 after failing to report for duty at the Faslane naval base.
Scottish police launched an appeal to find Mr Gayton after he went missing following a night out.
