BLESSED with good weather, there was a good turnout for the Evesham Royal British Legion annual Remembrance parade and service in Bengeworth last Sunday, November 16.

Dignitaries attending included the mayor and mayoress of Evesham, Councillors John Clatworthy and Marion Griffiths, deputy mayor Bill Kimberley, along with five members of Evesham Town Council.

Those who were in the parade commanded by Coun Emma Kersey marched from The Bengeworth in Coronation Street to St Peter’s Church via Northwick Road for a service.

This was officiated by the Revd Andy Green.

Among those who marched were members of the Evesham RBL, ex-forces veterans, H&W Army Cadets, Evesham Sea Cadets, and Bengeworth Brownies.

Leading the parade was the Pipes and Drum Band of the Seaforth Highland Regimental Association.

After the service, the parade once again assembled and then marched up Elm Road, where the mayor and mayoress took the salute.

The parade ended up once again at The Bengeworth, where refreshments were enjoyed.

Inside the club, attendees were treated to some stirring music from the Seaforth band, including a favourite of many, Highland Cathedral, a popular melody for the great Highland bagpipe.
