STAFF and pupils at Bretforton Village School are celebrating after a successful start to its first year as part of the Bengeworth Multi-Academy Trust.
Despite only opening in February, 85 per cent of children in Reception are working at a good level of development.
This compares to a national result of 72 per cent of children achieving this level.
The results mean the school is in the Top 15 schools in Worcestershire for Early Years provision.
Head of School Kevin Riley, said: “It is a very positive end to our first year as an academy and we are delighted the children have made such good progress.
“Our staff have worked very hard to ensure the children receive an interesting and exciting experience at Bretforton Village School and it is wonderful to see that reflected in these assessments.
“With the support of our parents and working in partnership with the Bengeworth Multi-Academy Trust, we look forward to September and the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
