AN ANIMAL sanctuary is celebrating 18 years of life in the Vale by holding an open day and auction.

The Farm Animal Sanctuary, which is based in Middle Littleton, is opening its doors on Sunday (September 4) from 1pm and the sanctuary’s patron, Ab Fab star Joanna Lumley, has donated a number of personal items to help raise much-needed funds.

A silent auction is being launched at the open day where signed pictures of Joanna Lumley on the Ab Fab movie set will be up for grabs, as well as a signed script from the movie and TV series.

A pair of underpants signed not only by Joanna, but also by Jennifer Saunders, Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton will also be auctioned off.

As well as the auction, there will also be a number of stalls, refreshments provided by JellyPickleJam, a raffle, tombola and a chance to meet and learn about the lives of many of the sanctuary’s animals, including a sheep shearing demonstration, followed by a weaving and knitting demonstration.

Local animal charities from across Worcestershire will also be at the open day, including Avon Cat Rescue, Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and the Battery Hen Welfare Trust.
