Saddle up for a series of Wattbike classes in aid of a good cause

YOU can saddle up at a series of Wattbike classes in Evesham in aid of the Air Ambulance service.

The classes, organised by Evesham resident and former world champion duathlete Helen Russell, follow on from two sell-out taster Wattbike classes which attracted participants from across Worcestershire.

There is one more chance to do a taster course and for the first time two follow on classes are being offered that are designed to develop participants’ hill climbing and speed.

The classes are suitable for riders of all abilities, from recreational to club cyclists.

The Wattbike, developed by Evesham resident Eddie Fletcher, from Fletcher Sports Science, is a revolutionary indoor static bike which teaches users to increase power output and improve pedalling efficiency.

Among those to benefit from the bike are Olympic champions Sir Chris Hoy and Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.

The taster class is at 7pm on Monday, March 20 and is followed a week later by a hill climbing class on March 27.

The speed specific class will take place on May 8 and all classes cost £10 and will be held at the Wattbike Centre on the Vale Industrial Estate in Evesham.

All proceeds from the classes will go to Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and its sister charity, the Children’s Air Ambulance, which are both are based at Coventry Airport and receive no government funding.

Anyone interested in the classes can email Helen at [email protected].
