Royalty crowned ahead of Pershore's Carnival

Evesham Editorial 21st Apr, 2019   0

THE KING and Queen for this year’s Pershore Carnival have been crowned as the countdown to the Bank Holday Monday extravaganza gathers pace.

King Sam Mardle, aged 10, of Holy Redeemer School will serve a second year as carnival royalty and will be joined by eight-year-old Bella Bromilow of Cherry Orchard School as queen.

The youngsters were crowned as part of the Duck Race festivities attended by town Mayor Coun Chris Parsons and his wife Jan.

Despite the cold and blustery wind, the plastic ducks took to the water for three races which yielded winners for the visitors who braved the chilly conditions

Carnival chairman Colin Shepherd said: “We rely on our fund-raising efforts and donations to be able to make Carnival happen so I would like to thank everyone who came along.

“Despite the cold, everyone had a great time.”
