THE death of a woman whose body was found in the River Avon is not being treated as suspicious ‘at this time,’ police have said.

West Mercia Police was called to the scene, near to Evesham Rugby Club, just before 8am last Saturday after reports a body had been seen in the river.

Firefighters then recovered the woman’s body from the river.

The woman’s family has been informed and a file prepared for the coroner.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and has been passed to the coroner.”
