A NEW exhibition to mark the Platinum Jubilee is at the heart of the re-opened Pershore Heritage Centre in the heart of the High Street.

The much-loved venue above the Town Hall is back in business after an absence of two and a half years.

Heritage chiefs closed the doors after the summer season in October 2019 and it then remained closed during the pandemic and beyond.

However, it is now back up and running with new exhibitions of commemorative plates, cups, documents and event programmes celebrating past coronations of George V and George VI.

A showcase of black and white photographs of the parades and festivities as Pershore residents celebrated the present Queen’s coronation in 1953 is also on offer.

Admission is free to the centre which is open from midday to 3pm Tuesday to Thursday, and from 10am to 1pm on Friday.

Volunteers are being sought to lend a hand, anyone interested is asked to call chairman Heather Greenhalgh on 01386 553180 or treasurer Cynthia Johnson on 01386 552305.
