REVEALED - The dates and routes of this year's Evesham Santa Sleigh

THE COUNTDOWN to Christmas has well and truly begun with the return of the Vale of Evesham Round Table’s Santa Sleigh.

The big man himself will be doing his rounds in the town and surrounding villages to check that all the boys and girls of Evesham have been good this year and are ready for Christmas.

The sleigh’s success is made possible in part by the generous support given by Listers Volkswagen Evesham who provide a vehicle every year to help Santa on his way.

The sleigh has been visiting the streets of Evesham for more than 40 years, and Santa is ably assisted by a team of volunteer elves from local groups, clubs and charities co-ordinated by the Vale of Evesham Round Table.

“The Vale of Evesham Round Table is once again proud to help Santa bring joy to the people of Evesham. With the contributions from members of the community we have been able to support many worthwhile causes that have had a hugely positive impact on the local community,” said a Round Table spokesman.

Father Christmas and his elves aim to visit as many families as possible around the town with his ‘sleigh ride’ starting at 6.30pm on weeknights and 4.30pm at weekends.

After starting his journey around the Vale in the town centre and Briar Close on Monday (December 6), Father Christmas and his elves will wind their way around the town before finishing with a visit to Charity Crescent on December 19.

As well as the schedule of where Santa will be each evening, a link to a live tracker app is posted daily on social media. This shows the exact location of the Sleigh, so local residents can track Santa’s progress in their neighbourhood.

The Vale of Evesham Round Table always welcomes new members to help make events, such as the Santa sleigh happen. They are a club for men aged 18-45 that host regular social nights and as well as supporting local community projects.

There is also a sister organisation, Evesham Ladies Circle, who run a calendar of social events and fund-raising.
