Residents invited to shape plans for Wychavon Town development in Worcestershire

RESIDENTS across South Worcestershire are being invited to share their views on a new settlement proposed near Worcestershire Parkway and the M5, which could create approximately 5,500 homes.

Homes England and property company Summix are holding three public engagement events in late November and early December to allow people to view proposals, ask questions, and provide feedback on two planning applications that will form the new development.

The new settlement, recently named as Wychavon Town, includes a mixed-use community featuring new schools, a town centre, employment space including offices and business premises, shops, community facilities and extensive green spaces including a community park.

The site, covering around 1,130 hectares bounded by the M5, A44, railway lines and the village of Stoulton, is identified in Policy 51 of the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review as a major growth area.

Sarah Taylor, project director at Homes England, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to come along and learn more about our exciting plans for the first stages of the new Wychavon Town.”

Both sessions will have the same information on the ideas for the town centre and the first residential neighbourhood.

Two in-person events will take place at The Sergeants’ Mess, Brockhill Lane, Norton, Worcester, WR5 2PP on Thursday, November 27 from 5pm to 9pm, and Saturday, November 29, from 10am to 1pm.

An online event will be held on Monday, December 1, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

If people are unable to attend, there will be an online session on Monday, December 1.

Peter Bateman, Summix planning director, added: “Summix and Homes England welcome the opportunity to continue our long-standing commitment to engagement with the existing communities and key stakeholders over the progression of our joint planning applications at Worcestershire Parkway.”

Residents can register for the online event by emailing [email protected].

A feedback survey will run from November 12 until 8 December 8.
