Regeneration behind firm taking new home

Evesham Editorial 24th Aug, 2019   0

A MAJOR Midlands property developer has moved its base to Evesham in a bid to oversee the major regeneration of the town centre.

Chase Commercial, which appointed former Mucklow PLC managing director Justin Parker in June, has acquired its own Grade II listed premises in Vine Street, close to the historic Abbey.

After undertaking a refurbishment of the interior of the former Word of Mouth cafe, staff have now moved from Stratford-upon-Avon where it was based for nearly 14 years.

The move follows the property developer’s commitment to playing a key role in the regeneration of Evesham town centre, with the acquisition of the Riverside Shopping Centre in 2017. It is also due to begin work on a 28-acre industrial development at Vale Park.

Julian Meredith, Chase commercial director, said: “We’ve been looking to acquire our own premises for a while. Having our own premises marks an important milestone for the business, which has experienced significant growth over the past few years.

“If we want to play a part in Evesham’s regeneration it makes sense to be here ourselves, and when we saw Vine Street we knew it would be ideal, being in the heart of the town that we are seeking to breathe new life into.

“We’re looking forward to settling in and getting to know the local business community more.”

Chase is involved in a number of major developments across the Midlands, including the 11-acre Access Park in Gloucester, a mixed-use development being brought forward in a joint venture with London-based Paloma Capital.
