BUSHCRAFT expert, author, and television presenter Ray Mears will visit Evesham this spring as part of a brand new tourism enterprise.

The world-renowned authority on how to stay alive in the wild will support the launch of a new bushcraft project at the holiday camping destination Offenham Touring Park on May 16.

His visit will also help spotlight and elevate the exceptional walking routes developed by Evesham Welcomes Walkers, positioning the area as a premier destination for outdoor exploration.

“The Vale of Evesham is a landscape rich in natural history and opportunity for adventure.

“I look forward to sharing the joy of exploring the outdoors here and supporting Offenham Touring Park as they develop a bushcraft project that will inspire visitors to reconnect with nature,” said Mr Mears.

The project has been spearheaded by Evesham Place Board in partnership with Wychavon District Council.

Phil Maclean, chair of the Evesham Place Board said: “Bringing Ray Mears to Evesham is a significant moment for our tourism ambitions. His expertise, global reputation, and passion for the outdoors align perfectly with our goals to strengthen and promote Evesham’s outdoor offer.

“The new bushcraft initiative will add real depth to our visitor experience, alongside the great routes championed by Evesham Welcomes Walkers.”

Ray Mears is one of the UK’s most respected authorities on bushcraft and survival, with a career spanning more than 30 years.

He is widely recognised from landmark BBC and ITV series including Ray Mears’ Bushcraft, World of Survival, Wild Britain, and Ray Mears Goes Walkabout.

Karen Pilling of Offenham Touring Park, added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Ray Mears to Offenham.

“His involvement brings immediate credibility and excitement to our new bushcraft project. I would also like to thank Evesham Place Board for their strategic guidance and hands-on support, without which this project simply wouldn’t have happened.”

Mears’ deep respect for indigenous knowledge, environmental awareness, and hands-on teaching philosophy have made him a global ambassador for reconnecting people with nature.

Event details, including dates and booking information, to be released shortly.
