Rambling in a winter wonderland

Rob George 20th Dec, 2019   0

WALKERS across Evesham and Pershore can discover a new Worcestershire walk this winter with Worcester Ramblers.

The Ramblers are helping celebrate the county’s green spaces with free walks led by experienced leaders.

Guided walks will be held across the county over the festive week and they are open to non-members.

The festival will kick off on Friday, December 27 with the six mile Spetchley Sparkle before a Powick and Bransford walk the following day.

A wander in Martley South is on offer on Monday, December 30 before 2020 kicks off with a walk around the Malvern Hills on Thursday, January 2.

Six miles around the Old Holls, Chaddesley Corbett and along the River Severn and canal kick the new year off in style on January 3, 4 and 5 respectively.

Coun Alan Amos, cabinet member for Highways, said: “Worcester Ramblers work closely with the County Council and often volunteer to help carry out path maintenance.

“The team have a brilliant knowledge of our public rights of way and are the perfect guides around them.”
