A CHARITY football match in Evesham raised more than £300 for Caring Hands.

Organised by Josh Mclennan, Will Spires, Ethan Brooks and Tyler Breakwell of Evesham College, the clash between South Worcestershire College Evesham’s campus and Prince Henry’s High School raised £347 for the home care charity.

Students from South Worcestershire emerged with the spoils with an 8-2 victory over Prince Henry’s in the match played at Evesham United’s Spiers and Hartwell Jubilee Stadium.

Mr Mclennan said: “The event was organised as part of our college coursework and we took the opportunity to get lots of our friends involved.

“As well as wanting to do something we enjoy, we wanted to make a positive difference in the local community and raise money for a great charity.

“The event ran successfully and the total amount raised is likely was rise further as there is a signed shirt by Dave Giles, of Evesham United, that can be sold and put towards the funds.”
