YOUNGSTERS at Pebworth First School in Evesham are set to enjoy their ‘Best Assembly Ever’ after they scooped success in a Lloyds Bank competition.

The ‘Best.Assembly.Ever’ boxes have been awarded to winning schools across the UK for sharing their creative BBC Children in Need 2014 fund-raising ideas.

Pebworth was selected as one of 48 schools in the UK for the prize in recognition of a packed day of fund-raising today (Friday) for the charity.

A bring and buy sale where children will be selling cakes they have baked themselves and a splat the teacher competition are just some of the highlights for the day.

The boxes will help school celebrate their pupil’s fund-raising efforts by providing a range of fun items such as games, balloons, t-shirts and special Pudsey prizes.

STAFF and students at Pershore High School kicked off BBC Children in Need fund-raising activities with a visit from Pudsey Bear.

The Station Road school welcomed staff from both BBC Hereford and Worcester and BBC Midlands Today to launch the annual appeal locally.

Students mer Pudsey and donated pound coins that were attached to a car which the station has taken around the two counties over the last fortnight.

A non-uniform day will be held today (Friday) at the school which expects to hand over a four-figure sum to the charity once all the fund-raising has concluded.

* WHETHER it’s a spotty day, a non-uniform day or a charity challenge of some sort, let us know what you are doing for Children In Need today (Friday).

Send your pictures and details of your event to [email protected] and we will print as many of them as possible in next week’s Observer.
