A WOMAN was threatened by a masked raider during an attempted robbery at an Evesham shop.

The raid happened at a shop on Mayfair at around 8.30pm last Wednesday, March 28.

A man is reported to have entered the store and threatened a member of staff before demanding she empty the contents of the till. The staff member refused and the man then attempted to open the till.

Nothing is believed to have been taken but the woman was left shaken up by the incident.

The man, who is understood to have left on a bike towards Elizabeth Road, is described as around 6ft tall, of stocky build and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a black hooded top, a balaclava over his face, dark gloves and dark trousers.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time is urged to speak to West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
