Pupils show off Vale delights to Germans

STUDENTS at the De Montfort School played host to a group of students from Nauen, a town close to Berlin.

Year nine and ten pupils welcomed German friends from the Leonardo da Vinci School. Despite the challenges posed by the weather the German students were able to sample the delights of the Vale of Evesham and experience British family life through the kindness of their hosts.

The two schools are working closely on several projects concerning environmental issues, these are in conjunction with a third partner school from Jodhpur, India.

History students from the De Montfort School and the German partners are also working on a joint project investigating the experiences of soldiers of the First World War through their personal letters sent home from the Western Front.

In June students from TDMS will visit Nauen where they will participate in a festival of cultures involving schools from Germany, USA, India and Israel.
