PUBLIC opinion is being sought on a new multi-functional community hub in Evesham.
The new hub is being proposed by Evesham Town Council on behalf of Evesham Adventure Playground and will located alongside the existing playground community asset.
Hoping to provide a hall for hire, drop-in rooms for advice clinics, health screening, blood donation sessions and more, the site will aim to foster ‘social cohesion, promote educational initiatives and support community activities.’
The hub will build on the existing Evesham Aventure Playground site while aiming to offer more space, capacity and flexibility.
Evesham Town Council is aiding the scheme through a consultation to establish support for the project, understand the needs of the hub and develop a way to keep the community engaged throughout the process.
Grant funding will need to be secured to realise the proposals. Evesham Adventure Playground will seek financial support from the local authority, National Lottery and regional and national charities.
A spokesperson for the council said: “This is not an insignificant task, and it’s going to be expensive. The Adventure Playground will need money from multiple different sources to make this happen.
“Please, give us your views, and help us to shape the case for this new Community Hub.”
The consultation ends at midday on Monday, April 22.
