A POPULAR Evesham pub has served up success after they scooped the prestigious Shakespeare’s CAMRA’S Pub of the Season award.

The Royal Oak on Vine Street, which has been run by landlord Alistair Barlow for the past two years, won the award in recognition of the quality of ales the pub serves and for the new lease of life Mr Barlow has breathed into the iconic venue.

The pub faced stiff competition to win the award, with Shakespeare’s CAMRA, the campaign for real ale, covering hundreds of pubs across Worcestershire and Warwickshire.

Mr Barlow said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won CAMRA’S Pub of the season.

“When I took over The Royal Oak nearly two years ago the aim was to serve great food and drink in a comfortable and friendly environment.

“I am so proud of every member of the team, it’s fantastic for them to get this recognition as they truly care and do a brilliant job making sure our guests are happy.

“If you haven’t been in, please pop in for a drink, a bite to eat, or just to say hi.”
