Psychic event to back afterlife documentary

Rob George 2nd Dec, 2018   0

VALE residents in search of the afterlife are being invited to a festive psychic supper being held at Evesham Town Hall.

Guests can settle in around candlelit tables awaiting their turn with one of several psychic mediums including Paul Langford, Mike Benfell and international medium Stephen Thornton, aka ‘The Diceman’, at the event next Friday (December 6).

All proceeds will be donated to the ‘Afterlife Project’ which is being co-ordinated by Worcestershire-based paranormal researcher and film-maker Jayne Harris. She has so far raised £3,500 through a crowdfunding campaign towards creating a documentary and hopes the supper will help them reach their £5,000 target.

“We are so passionate about this project, we’re pulling out all the stops. We truly believe this subject needs to be thrown into the limelight,” she said.

“So far we’ve spoken with surgeons, doctors and professors to gain an academic perspective on the subject, and we’re now keen to speak to people who take a more spiritual approach.”

The documentary, due out in 2019 and entitled ‘Afterlife’, began filming last year with a visit to music legend Toyah Willcox at her haunted home in Pershore to discuss some of Toyah’s personal beliefs and experiences.

The team has also spoken to various religious representatives including Rev Ian Spencer at Holland House Christian Retreat near Fladbury.

“We intend to visit hospices as part of this research and would very much like to make donations as a thank-you for their time,” said Jayne. “In addition we plan to set up a series of cafes, which will offer an open and safe place for people to come along and discuss their fears and anxieties around death and dying in the hope we can break down the taboo nature of the subject and get talking about death.”
