CARING staff at two Pershore firms will take to the pitch in memory of a popular Evesham father who died on his way to work.
Tomasz Kormicka died on July 9 after his Yamaha motorbike was involved in a collision with a VW Touran on the A44 at the Salters Lane junction in Lower Moor, Pershore.
The 41-year-old was on his way to work at Severn Waste Services when the crash happened and was pronounced dead at the scene.
He leaves behind a wife Agata, and two children aged six and eight. Family friend Marcin Fuja was inspired to set up a Go Fund Me page in his memory which has already raised more than £12,000 for Tomasz’s family.
Agata is fighting cancer, a glioblastoma multiform tumor, and has already struggled with it for the past few years.
In support of the fund-raising Pershore firms Wrubble Ltd and DolphinTec will host the match of the day on September 10 at Pershore Town FC.
The two local firms will field a team each and battle it out on the pitch from 7pm and doors will open at 5.30pm.
Phil Williams, director at Wrubble, said: “We wanted to do something to support Tomasz’s family and asked DolphinTec to join us in fund-raising for them. Hopefully the local community will come together to donate prizes and support us all on the night.”
Lewis Dolphin, director and team rivals at DolphinTec, added: “It’s a great idea and our team are up for the challenge – we won’t make it easy for Wrubble but we will do our best to raise as much money as possible for the family.”
The local firms will be raising money by charging £2.50 entry to the match and fund-raising via a raffle.
Pledges include a family day out at Aztec Adventure Upton Warren, a free boiler service from Rock Plumbing and Heating Limited, within a 10 mile radius and a hamper from Ken & Jen Mason and daughters.
Raffle tickets can be bought in advance for £1 each by calling Jacqui on 07879 041433 or you can buy tickets on the night.
