WELCOMING youngsters at Bengeworth CE Academy opened their doors to members of the community for a packed tea dance.
Proud year one pupils entertained parents, grandparents and Mayor of Evesham, Coun Richard Jones and Mayoress Penny Jones at the event.
Everyone enjoyed homemade finger sandwiches, cakes galore and scrumptious scones before dancing the waltz and the Charleston.
A school spokesperson said: “We have received some wonderful letters and emails showing great appreciation of the hard work of both staff and children and we would like to thank Wayside Cafe for the kind donation of cake stands and vintage crockery.
“It was a wonderful occasion which provided the community with the opportunity to get together to revive the tradition of tea dances.”
