Port Street Fayre goes international

Evesham Editorial 7th Jul, 2018   0

STALLS, bands, rides, entertainments and international street food all fused together to pull in the crowds and make the 2018 Port Street Fayre a huge success.

Sunday’s event saw Port Street packed with visitors who enjoyed the summer sunshine and the entertainment on offer.

The showcase for local businesses has gone from strength to strength and all the Port Street businesses joined in this year with stalls outside their shops.

The ‘international’ theme was evident throughout with amazing street food from all nationalities, with everyone joining in and working together to make it such a great community event.

Betsy Harmony from Angel Vaults organised one of the stages and said: “There was such a lovely atmosphere this year, all the acts were local to Evesham, if you’d like to book any of them and support our home grown talent, get in touch through our Facebook page.”

A packed Port Street saw the event spill into Workmans Gardens where the kids zone had climbing wall, bouncy castles and Stand Up Paddleboarding.

Kim Bonk, from Bonkers Paddleboarding and one of the organisers said: “It was hard work this year, and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to make it run smoothly – I’d like to thank everyone who helped make it such a success, the business, traders, stall holders, attractions, charities and pubs.

“Special thanks to Betsy Harmony for the bottom stage and Danby and Rose for the top stage – and huge shout out to all the volunteers, who worked so hard during the day and it wouldn’t be possible without them.”
