A POPULAR Evesham pub is in with a chance of retaining their ‘Worcestershire’s Best Restaurant’ title after reaching the finals of the award for a second year.
The Royal Oak, run by Alistair Barlow, has been announced as a finalist in the ‘Best Independent Restaurant’ category in the What’s On Reader’s Awards 2017.
It’s the second year in a row the successful pub has reached the finals. Last year the town centre pub clinched the title after beating off stiff competition from pubs and restaurants across Worcestershire.
The Royal Oak is also the only restaurant in Evesham to have reached this year’s final.
Landlord Alistair Barlow told the Observer he hopes Evesham residents will rally round and vote for the Royal Oak to win the award again.
“We are thrilled to have a chance to retain our title of ‘Worcestershire’s Best Restaurant,” Mr Barlow said.
“Even making it to the finals again is a massive achievement. The team do a fantastic job here and should be thoroughly proud of themselves.
“Please, please, do take a moment to vote for us, we would truly appreciate it.”
