Poppy window is a community effort

Evesham Editorial 6th Nov, 2020   0

CARING Vale residents have responded to a rallying call to create a memorable display of poppies.

Tesco bosses on Worcester Road made the call in response to the decimated Remembrance services because of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

With no parades or church services in Evesham on offer, supermarket chiefs launched an emotional appeal in a bid to show their respect for the fallen.

Their pleas have already yielded impressive results with a stunning display already on offer in the store’s foyer.

Local groups such as the Garage Art Group, Working World, Ourside Youth Association, Puddle Ducks Nursery, St Andrews CE First School, St Egwins CE First School and Evesham Adventure Playground all lent their creative skills to the project.

Shoppers can pick up crosses, poppies and badges from the store ahead of Remembrance Sunday (November 8).
