ALL of the marked West Mercia police cars have again had the poppy logos put on their bonnets ahead of Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day.
Worcestershire’s Operational Policing Unit confirmed the move for around 300 of the force’s vehicles and this is the third year the poppy transfers have been used.
Sgt Lee Baker’s pilot for the Bromsgrove area in 2017 was a success so it rolled out across the alliance last year.
The company the force sourced the logos from gave a percentage of the revenue generated to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
This year the RBL has developed its own poppy transfers after realising how popular they had become, meaning a substantial donation to the Poppy Appeal.
Sgt Baker said: “It has been an absolute honour to again organise the display of poppies on our marked vehicle fleet this year.”
Sgt Baker has also been selected to be at the Cenotaph in London on Remembrance Sunday to represent West Mercia Police in the nation’s main commemoration.
