Police issue warning to Evesham residents over rogue trader reports

POLICE have warned the public to be wary of rogue traders attempting to carry out roofing work in the Port Street area of Evesham.

According to reports, individuals are targeting residents in an effort to defraud them – either by requesting money for work that is never completed, or by charging vastly inflated prices.

Officers advise people to always be cautious of anyone who claims they can start immediately as most legitimate traders are booked in advance.

It is also best that householders do not open or answer the door to anyone who they might suspect to be a rogue trader and always ask for a contact card from anyone offering work.

Anyone who needs to report suspicious activity can do so by calling 101, or 999 for an emergency.
