Police issue warning over notorious cold caller group

Evesham Editorial 4th Oct, 2016 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

EVESHAM police are warning residents to remain vigilant after sightings of a notorious cold caller group.

The door-to-door sales group, known as the ‘Nottingham Knockers,’ have been reported in Malvern in recent days and officers are warning they could end up in the Vale.

The group are known to use persistent and pressurised sales tactics to sell cleaning products.

Vale residents are being advised not to part with any money for unwanted and poor quality products if a sales person knocks at the door.

Officers are also advising residents to take precautionary measures such as a door chain and to ignore callers if they are unknown.

To sell on the door step a sales person must have a valid pedlars certificate, and not just an ID card with the sales person’s photo.

Anyone who spots the ‘Nottingham Knockers’ are urged not to answer the door and instead call police on the 101 non-emergency number.
