POLICE in Pershore have been clamping down on criminal damage at King George’s Playing Field and anti-social behaviour around Asda.
The Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Team is actively tackling the issues.
At King George’s Playing Field, recent incidents of bench fires – including a memorial bench – have caused significant upset.
Officers have taken steps to prevent further damage, including working with the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and installing a security camera in collaboration with the Wychavon Community Safety Team.
Increased patrols are continuing.
In the ASDA area, reports of ASB, including verbal abuse and intimidation, have been addressed with store bans, patrols, and potential police prosecution for identified individuals.
Officers are also ready to use dispersal powers where needed to prevent further incidents.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “Our team remains committed to ensuring Pershore is a safe and welcoming place for all.”
And they urged witnesses or anyone with information on the incidents or culprits to call officers on 101.
