OFFICERS in Evesham hope recent speed checks on Offenham Road will help alleviate residents’ speeding concerns in the area.
PC Prentice and PC Trowman had their speed guns at the ready this morning (Thursday, September 5) along the 40mph limit road following complaints of speeding from residents.
The Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team officers checked the speed of 150 vehicles and were pleased to report not a single one was clocked above the speed limit.
The majority of motorists were driving in the low 30’s and some in the high 20’s while only two drivers were seen driving at 40 mph.
A spokesperson for the Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “We hope this gives some reassurance to the local community.
“Road safety concerns, in particular speeding, are consistently raised by our local communities.
“Speed cameras, both fixed and mobile, are located in areas where there have been collisions and where there is a demonstrated speeding problem.
“These officers will continue to check areas of concern within their patch, and will report any findings to the public and to the relevant parish council.”
