Police helping schools protect their belongings

Evesham Editorial 3rd Oct, 2023   0

OFFICERS have been out across Evesham and Broadway setting up schools with SmartWater technology to help prevent crime.

PC Trowman from Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team visited Broadway First School and St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School to drop off the traceable forensic liquid.

SmartWater is an asset marking system that is applied to items of value to identify thieves and deter theft.

The liquid leaves a long-lasting and unique identifier, whose presence is invisible except under an ultraviolet light.

PC Lane and PC Prentice, also from Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team,  visited other schools in the region as part of the community engagement work.

PC Trowman visited St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School to deliver SmartWater.

SmartWater has been known to help stolen items be recovered and can even help bring criminals to justice if the liquid transfers onto their clothes or other belongings.

The liquid is guaranteed for a minimum of five years once applied.
